B. Andrew Browne
Data Specialist | Clear Signal Insights Owner
I am a Data Specialist who works primarily with healthcare data, which is some of the
messiest, high-stake, and consequential data that exists. I started Clear Signal Insights to simply provide
clear explanations of data that may seem to be more confusing than it needs to be. When the numbers describe
real operations and real money, "close enough" isn't good enough, in many businesses a misleading chart is not
only embarrassing but it can also be expensive. My job at Clear Signal Insights is to make business data accurate,
consistent, and clear enough for owners to make impactful decisions.
Now more than ever, business owners are drowning in data and struggling to make sense of it all. With all of this data
available it is difficult to discern which numbers are accurate, what they actually mean, or what should you do about them.
I write from the gap between having data and understanding the data, this is where the most crucial decisions are made. My
philosophy is simple: data only matters if it is accurate, if you understand how it is built, and if it influences your next steps.
Everything else is noise falsely presented as "insights".
The goal of every post is to leave the reader more data-savvy and better able to separate the noise from the true signals. No overly
complicated explanations, only guidance on how to read data honestly, spot when you're being misled, and how to turn messy numbers into
defensible decisions. That is the whole point of Clear Signal Insights: less static, more signal.
What this blog is about
Clear Signal Insights is a blog about cutting through
the noise. The internet is full of bloated, jargon-heavy content that
takes 2,000 words to say something that could be said in 500. This
blog does the opposite.
Every article here aims to leave you with one clear, useful thing:
an insight you can actually act on, an idea that reframes how you
think about something, or a plain-English explanation of something
that's usually presented with unnecessary complexity.
